This session reveals the exact strategy you need to dominate the holistic review process—from academics to standout extracurriculars. Secure the tools to build a powerhouse personal profile for your college application before the gates close.

Module 2: Everyone Is Doing That! Dare To Be Different…

  • Developing a hook

  • Crafting a Dynamic Resume: Highlight extracurricular activities and community service.
  • Standing Out to Admissions Officers: Strategies for making yourself memorable.

This session focuses on the strategic value of high school extracurricular activities in the college application process. We will explore which activities are most impactful and how to develop a unique profile that helps you "stand out." A key component will be discussing and brainstorming ideas for committing to a hook. The goal is to learn practical ways to make your application and, by extension, yourself, memorable to college admissions officers as they review, present, and advocate for your candidacy.

Module 3: The College Matchmaker: Building Your Balanced Application List

  • College Application Process: Understanding the various methods and timelines for college applications.
  • College Search: Learning effective strategies for researching colleges and identifying key features to evaluate.
  • College List Management: Utilizing tools to create a well-rounded and balanced list of prospective colleges.

This session guides participants through the process of college exploration and evaluation to identify institutions that align with their personal needs and desires. It will cover the different college application options and their requirements. Ultimately, the goal is to equip students with the skills and resources necessary to construct a well-balanced college list.

Module 4: Show Me the Money!

  • Financial Aid Forms: Review the necessary financial aid forms required by colleges.

  • Types of Financial Aid: Differentiate between the various forms of financial aid available.

  • Scholarship Search: Discover effective strategies for finding scholarship opportunities.

  • Student Loans: Investigate and understand the landscape of student loan options.

This session focuses on educating students about college funding options and financial aid. Students will learn about the different types of financial aid available, including the FAFSA and CSS profile, and what each process involves. The session will cover how to interpret a collegiate financial aid package, explore the various loans available (and their implications), and identify effective strategies for finding scholarships. Finally, students will be taught how to evaluate and approach a financial aid offer.
